Job Summary
Lead systems engineering activities focusing on safety requirements, hazard analysis, and risk mitigation across the full system lifecycle. Develop and maintain Safety Management Plans, hazard analyses, and environmental impact assessments while ensuring compliance with DoD standards. Integrate personal and environmental safety requirements into system architectures and designs, conducting Safety Reviews including Preliminary Hazard Analysis and System Safety Working Groups. Mentor junior engineers on best practices and support proposals, design reviews, and customer interactions. Collaborate with environmental, health, and safety teams to ensure regulatory compliance. Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, with demonstrated focus on safety engineering
- U.S. citizenship
- Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
- Candidate must be local to the area and able to work onsite in the Pittsfield, MA office
- Some telecommuting is allowed up to 2 days a week
- Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
- Environmental compliance and impact assessment
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama)
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DoD safety regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience
- Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred
