Safety Engineer - ePT & Batteries (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Develop and implement comprehensive safety protocols for ePowertrain systems and battery packs, ensuring regulatory compliance and system reliability. Create safety approval processes in PDM and conduct detailed error analyses including FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA. Derive safety concepts for Battery Management Systems (BMS) and perform risk assessments to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies. Maintain documentation of safety evaluations, test results, and compliance measures while continuously improving safety processes for electrified systems. Work with global teams in Japan and the Netherlands to integrate advanced technologies within Yanmar's Electrification Unit, supporting the Green Challenge 2050 initiative for zero-emission off-highway machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in safety assurance roles for ePowertrain systems and battery management applications
- Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 61508)
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations relevant to battery technologies
- Experience in an international, cross-functional project environment
- Familiarity with cutting-edge safety technologies and methodologies for electric powertrains and battery systems
