Job Summary
Safety Engineer responsible for developing and executing project safety programs across construction sites, conducting weekly jobsite safety inspections, delivering orientations for new workers, coordinating pre-task safety analyses with subcontractors, leading weekly safety meetings, promoting near-miss reporting, coaching safe work methods, maintaining safety records and incident reports, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Responsibilities include establishing safety procedures prior to subcontractor activity, coordinating fire prevention and evacuation procedures, investigating incidents, and maintaining all required safety logs. This is a full-time regional traveling role requiring on-site presence, with a BS in Safety and Health (or equivalent), OSHA 30, and additional certifications considered a plus; Spanish bilingual and intercultural communication skills are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Safety and Health or equivalent
- At least two (2) years of safety experience or combination of education/multiple years experience in building construction
- OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation
- OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish and intercultural communication skills is preferred
- Computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office.
