Job Summary
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Deliver safety training, new employee orientation, and ongoing education while reinforcing safe work practices across manufacturing operations. Support OSHA and environmental regulatory compliance by managing documentation, reporting, audits, and MSDS/SDS administration. Coordinate emergency response programs including first aid, spill response, and facility preparedness initiatives. Monitor safety performance metrics to track injury rates, workers' compensation costs, and training completion. Work an 8-hour shift with overtime as needed, requiring bilingual English/Spanish communication and the ability to lift 50 pounds in an active manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), occupational safety, environmental compliance, or manufacturing safety
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and related compliance requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment within an active manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in areas with elevated noise levels and other typical manufacturing conditions
- Ability to walk and move throughout the facility to conduct inspections, investigations, training, and safety assessments
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift and overtime as business needs require
- Regular, reliable, in-person attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Experience supporting EHS programs within food and beverage, alcohol beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other manufacturing environments
- Experience with OSHA compliance, incident investigation, workers' compensation, emergency response, and environmental programs
- Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, ASP, CSP, or other relevant EHS credentials
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
