Safety Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate site-specific safety orientation programs and conduct special trainings on fall protection, man lifts, forklifts, and confined spaces. Perform proactive work area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests, and investigations for property damage or personal injury while documenting accidents, violations, and unsafe conditions. Ensure job sites have necessary safety supplies and personal protective equipment, and accompany safety, health, and insurance inspections on required walk-through tours. Compile data, photographs, and reports in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Keep current on construction industry safety standards to make recommendations to the regional Safety Director on best practices. Travel from job site to job site as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related area preferred
- Up to 5 years of experience in mechanical construction industry preferred
- Excellent ability to establish and foster effective professional relationships with others, including team members at all levels of the company, vendors, contractors, etc.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement necessary corrective measures
- Excellent team collaboration and communication skills
- Understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and associated safety best practices
- Knowledge of the following computer programs: MS Word, Excel
- Travel from job site to job site may be required
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status
- U.S. Engineering Construction is compliant with the Drug Free Workplace Act, and all offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a pre-employment drug screen
