Job Summary
Coordinate EHS and Total Housekeeping Management programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Conduct compliance audits, manage safety documentation, and lead safety committee activities. Provide training to employees on general and specific safety measures, and enforce all safety regulations including lockout/tagout and confined space protocols. Collaborate with management to halt non-compliant operations and address personnel issues. Perform accident investigations and lead inexperienced employees. Maintain five years of industrial safety experience and intermediate MS Office skills. Work in environments with moving machinery and vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of safety experience
- Experience facilitating an effective EHS program in an industrial setting
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form
- Have adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate powered vehicles
- Sights capabilities to distinguish proper product identification as well as warning and operational indicators
- Hearing capabilities to distinguish differences in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators
- Sight capabilities to identify accuracy and neatness of required job assignments
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling capabilities to handle job requirements
- Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching in all areas due to limited direct supervision and/or observation
- Ability to verbally communicate either face to face or via telephone with other fellow employees to accomplish all assigned job requirements
- Climb and descend ladders or steps whether fixed or portable on company facilities in order to access all areas if needed
- Hear and understand verbal communication whether it is face to face or via telephone
- See and understand written communication
- Walking through, under, and around machinery with clearance of 30"
- Activates and uses telephone, calculators as required in assigned job requirements
- Ability to feel objects, size and shape and to determine temperature by touching of skin, primarily by that of the finger tips
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced training or certification in safety
- Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Internet/Intranet experience
