Job Summary

Safety Coordinator sought to inspect project work environments for infractions, implement procedures to control accidents and health exposure, and minimize OSHA citations. The role includes traveling as needed, stopping work to remedy serious safety deficiencies, identifying training needs (including OSHA 10 hours), enforcing project site safety plans and company safety manuals, assisting with pre-construction meetings, pre-task safety planning, safety orientation development, development of safety-related documents, and preparation of daily safety observation reports. The position supports environmental, health, and safety programs and may involve off-hours activity as needed. Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED plus three years in a commercial roofing environment.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Intermediate level understanding and usage of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Organized
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
  • Considerable knowledge of OSHA Standards as they pertain to construction and roofing
  • Considerable knowledge of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Good knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental, health and safety codes
  • Some knowledge of: construction site development; commercial construction, demolition, and remodel procedures
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, in English, and comprehend drawings and specifications, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strong verbal skills and ability to interact with all level of employees and management
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratio
