Job Summary
Improve injury prevention, employee engagement, and compliance activities at the assigned location by serving as the Site Safety Coordinator. Actively participate in employee-led team projects, communicate progress to peers and leaders, and conduct safety training for new hires, visitors, and vendors. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on Behavior Based Safety, audit on-the-job training for gaps, and lead Tier I and Tier II sessions. Train leaders and peers on near miss reporting and one-on-one engagements while analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities. Follow up on safety flashes from other locations and honor site-specific standard work activities. Requires baseline knowledge of programs like Lockout Tagout and PPE, basic Microsoft skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment. Available Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm.
Required Qualifications
- Passionate about safety as it relates to employee engagement, compliance, and injury prevention
- Baseline knowledge of programs such as Lockout Tagout, PPE, Machine Guarding, Forklift Safety, Behavior Based Safety, 1 on 1 Engagements, Employee Led Teams, etc
- Basic Microsoft skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
- Competent in the use of a calculator and ruler/tape measure
- Capable of communicating in front of large groups and interacting with peers and site leaders
- Reliable/Dependable as it relates to completing work assignments
- Accomplished in coaching peers
- Willingness to coach leaders
- Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing/warehouse environment
