Safety Coordinator I

Job Summary
Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure safe job practices, proper protective equipment usage, and operational machine guards. Investigate accidents and near-miss occurrences, identify trends, and implement corrective measures. Develop safety programs and incentives with management while conducting new hire and machinery operation training. Chair the Safety Committee, coordinate forklift training, and manage first aid/CPR personnel levels and inventory. Monitor hearing conservation programs, coordinate regulatory agency tours, and maintain OSHA 300 logs and required reports. Communicate with management, Human Resources, and third-party claims administrators. Requires minimum high school graduation, zero to two years of experience, and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school graduate
- Minimum zero to two years of experience in safety or woodworking operations
- Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications Excel, Word and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience in First Aid and CPR
- Preferred working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
- Bi-Lingual
