Safety Coordinator

Job Summary
Implement and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures across DOT, commercial bridge, and earthworks projects in central Arkansas to ensure OSHA compliance. Execute the safety strategy and zero accident culture by conducting daily site visits, leading safety training, and performing audits. Research, plan, and develop procedures to address compliance needs while maintaining proper documentation and communicating with all parties in real time. Assist in incident investigation and lock out tag out protocols to identify and correct safety deficiencies. Maintain a clean and valid driver's license and possess strong interpersonal skills for interacting with crews and management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree focused on Occupational Safety Health
- five (5) years of equivalent experience
- Relative background in civil construction or asphalt
- Environmental compliance experience
- Previous experience with OSHA rules and regulations
- Formal safety training including OSHA within the construction industry
- Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment
- Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Clean and valid driver's license
- Well-organized approach to constantly changing working conditions and/or priorities
- Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with MSHA rules and regulations is a plus
