Job Summary
Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments to control and prevent injury from chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Maintain school safety plans, disaster preparedness programs, and incident management procedures while overseeing safety meetings and trainings across all locations. Coordinate and monitor fire, earthquake, and severe weather drills, ensuring emergency communications systems remain functional. Investigate accidents and facility conditions to identify causes and recommend measures protecting workers from hazardous materials. Advise management on compliance with Department of Education safety codes, laws, and regulations. Support site principals with materials for safety briefings and assist in planning emergency response drills. Travel up to 50% between school sites to address specific needs.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or 5 years of equivalent relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in Occupational, Environmental and Educational field of safety
- Experience in a public-school environment
- Knowledge of California Education Code safety regulations
- Formal safety training
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
- Valid Driver License
- Auto insurance
- Proficient skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to travel up to 50% in performance of job duties
