Safety Coordinator

Job Summary
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry-specific guidelines by conducting regular site inspections, audits, and investigations into incidents and near misses. Implement and review safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safe work plans while delivering training programs on topics such as fall protection, electrical safety, and PPE usage. Foster a strong safety culture by promoting awareness, accountability, and active participation in safety initiatives across the organization. Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reports on metrics for management review. This role requires daily travel to DFW area job sites, with 70% of the time spent on-site, and involves collaborating with project managers, field personnel, and subcontractors to drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent time in field
- Proven experience in safety coordination, preferably in the electrical contracting or construction industry
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and other relevant safety codes and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees, subcontractors, and management
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using safety management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools
- Will drive 70% of the time within the DFW area
- The position will be for the DFW area primarily
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification or similar are highly desirable
- 3 to 5 years of construction related experience
