Job Summary

Safety Coordinator provides advanced field safety support by assisting with the implementation of company safety policies, managing project-specific safety documentation, and supporting field leadership in maintaining safe, healthy, and incident-free work environments. Serves as a link between field operations and the Regional Safety Manager, supporting project planning, training, inspections, and incident response while maintaining a strong field presence. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing safety policies, conducting field safety observations and inspections, hazard recognition and mitigation planning, supporting toolbox talks and JHAs, enforcing PPE and safe work practices, participating in incident investigations, preparing regulatory and project safety reports, coordinating site-specific safety programs, supporting regulatory inspections (OSHA, EPA), delivering safety training, managing safety documentation (JHAs, permits, logs, training records, inspection reports), communicating safety needs to leadership, submitting daily safety reports, spending majority of time in the field, and representing the company in safety organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of construction-related experience
  • 2–5 years of safety-specific experience (Preferred)
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in occupational or construction safety
  • Specialized training in construction safety
  • OSHA 510 certification (Required)
  • STS-C, CHST, or other recognized safety certification (Preferred)
  • Ability to achieve BCSP CHST certification within 180 days of hire if not already held
  • Strong organizational skills with proficiency in safety documentation and reporting
  • Effective communicator with the ability to appropriately escalate safety concerns
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and standard office software
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to meet company driving requirements
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with craft personnel, project leadership, senior management, and clients, including delivering presentations on safety topics
  • Physical Demands: Light to moderate physical exertion; extensive regional travel; overnight travel
