Job Summary
Conduct multiple medium-to-large critical projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety statutes through audits, ergonomic assessments, and hazard interventions. Provide technical consulting services by recognizing, evaluating, and recommending actions to minimize employee injuries via accident investigations and site observations. Deliver annual safety audits and self-assessments to measure hazard controls while interpreting regulations to recommend compliance options. Develop training lesson plans for new hire orientations and annual OSHA training, and assist site management with contractor safety questions and paperwork. Function as a consultant to local safety committees and participate in task forces related to regulatory compliance or continuous improvement. Maintain professional expertise by attending development conferences and keeping current on safety rules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
- Three years of work experience within the safety field
- Recognized safety certification
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional designation (BCSP)
- NFPA 70E training
- Previous experience with electric generation
- Experience implementing Human and Organizational Principles
- Experience working in a unionized workforce environment
- Experience analyzing safety performance metrics and trends
- Experience implementing Process Safety Management
- Experience developing and conducting electrical LOTO audits
