Safety Clerk

Job Summary
Coordinate and support safety training activities, including scheduling, preparation, tracking, reporting, and distribution of materials. Assist with safety equipment management, maintain division safety calendars, and support the Hazard Communication Program through SDS and chemical inventory management. Administer the Incident Management System, manage Workers' Compensation claims, and support internal and external safety audits. Develop safety communications and monitor workplace compliance with OSHA and company policies. This role supports division-wide safety initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts, and employee training programs within the Great Lakes Division.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and external partners
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification (or ability to obtain).
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
- Two or more years of administrative, safety, compliance, or clerical experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, recycling, transportation, or regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation processes, contractor management systems, and incident reporting systems.
- Experience supporting safety training and compliance programs
