Job Summary
Safety Auditor for the Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety and Site Support. Responsibilities include overseeing safety-related construction programs, conducting field safety audits and inspections of construction sites to identify hazardous conditions, enforcing safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, DOT, DOB, and MUTCD, preparing and issuing electronic reports documenting findings, managing safety-related electronic records, attending construction meetings, supporting emergency response, participating in accident investigations, communicating with project staff and contractors, and reviewing Site Safety Plans (SSPs) and preparing safety reports. Must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S. with U.S.-based credentials; no visa sponsorship. Educational credentials must be from a U.S. DOE-recognized institution or equivalent evaluation for foreign degrees. Locations include New York City, NY with in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with (a) 28 semester credits in industrial hygiene, environmental health science, occupational health science and/or safety engineering; or (b) 28 semester credits in physical or natural sciences, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering and/or toxicology and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in identification, evaluation and control of health and safety hazards; or (c) a baccalaureate degree and two years of satisfactory full-time work experience in identification, evaluation and control of health and safety hazards; or (d) a combination of education and experience equivalent to (a)-(c) above; and all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree

- Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York; must be maintained for duration of employment
