Job Summary
Conduct regular inspections of assigned Colorado Coalition for the Homeless sites to ensure a safe environment for clients, staff, and visitors. Assist in assessing potentially dangerous situations, intervene to prevent escalation, and provide physical intervention during crises while adhering to trauma-informed principles. Escort employees as needed, monitor compliance with safety procedures, and document all incidents involving physical intervention. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency healthcare personnel, utilizing advanced verbal de-escalation skills and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention methods. Maintain complete records in company systems and participate in ongoing safety training. Perform duties Monday through Friday from 11pm to 7:30am. A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must pass a criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of issues affecting individuals experiencing homelessness and a commitment to serving underserved populations
- Ability to assess and de-escalate potentially dangerous situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a sincere desire to support others
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and exercise sound professional judgment
- Experience working in high-volume environments
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a direct human services role
- Experience as an EMT, firefighter, or first responder
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of self or others
- Must be available for Monday - Friday from 11pm - 7:30am
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
