Job Summary
Safety and Security Liaison overseeing and coordinating comprehensive safety and security programs across district campuses; serves as the primary connection between the school district, local/state law enforcement, and emergency management agencies to ensure a safe learning environment; develops and updates Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) per NIMS/ICS; conducts security assessments and vulnerability audits; plans drills (lockdown, evacuation, shelter-in-place, reunification); manages physical security systems (access control, visitor management, CCTV, mass notifications); leads the Behavioral Threat Assessment Team (BTAT); collaborates with counselors and administrators on threat intervention; develops and delivers security training for staff and volunteers; maintains incident records; monitors threats and recommends policy updates; coordinates with facilities and IT on safety infrastructure and cybersecurity; communicates with parents and community stakeholders; represents the district at safety meetings and task forces; assists in grant writing and administration for safety funding; chairs or co-chairs the safety and emergency planning committee; ensures current EOPs for all hazard scenarios and leads after-action reviews; develops COOP plans and facilitates community safety programs and outreach.
