Job Summary
Safety and Health Coordinator responsible for leading safety and health systems across Western Sugar Terminals in Nebraska and Colorado. Drive culture change using human performance, behavior-based safety, RCA, and safety GAP analyses to identify, eliminate, and sustain risk mitigation for employees, facilities, and locations. Hands-on role working with terminals to build a safety-minded culture; duties include deploying safety tools, coaching safe behaviors, facilitating the Safety Committee, maintaining OSHA/EPA/state/local regulatory records, ensuring Process Safety Management where relevant, developing training (HAZCOM, LOTO, Confined Space, forklift), coordinating incident reporting and workers' comp, coordinating emergency response and crisis management, monitoring safety performance indicators, leading safety inspections and risk analyses, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Travel up to 50%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Health and Safety
- Professional certifications such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or CSHM (Certified Safety and Health Manager) are a plus
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred
- 2-3 years of experience preferred; open to candidates with relevant education but limited field experience
- Experience with root cause analysis, behavior-based safety techniques, and safety auditing
- Experience in food processing, agricultural, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred
