Job Summary
Safeguarding Director on Exeter City Women’s Football Women’s Board. Provides strategic leadership and independent scrutiny of safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices across the women’s football programme, ensuring welfare, safety, and wellbeing of players, staff, volunteers, and participants. Requires governance and risk-management expertise, experience with safeguarding principles, and the ability to engage stakeholders and committees. Board role is voluntary with responsibilities including attending meetings, preparing papers, participation in working groups, and representing safeguarding interests to support long-term development and safeguarding culture within the club. Two days per month commitment; DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles
- Governance and risk management experience
- Experience working with children, young people, vulnerable adults, education, sport, healthcare, social care, HR, or regulatory environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to promoting safe, inclusive environments in sport
- Ability to provide independent judgement and constructive challenge
