Job Summary
Safe Harbor Staff Facilitator (Casual) at Abington Memorial Hospital leads and plans Safe Harbor support group sessions, mentors volunteers, and coordinates bereavement activities under the Ambulatory Nurse Manager and Safe Harbor Program Coordinator. Responsibilities include planning session activities/themes, meeting with families, supervising volunteers, overseeing program operations, serving as lead facilitator for bereavement groups, handling administrative tasks (welcoming families, paperwork, updates to volunteers and families, post-group follow-up), planning and structuring sessions to meet grief-related needs, following up with families for additional resources, and assisting in planning Camp Charlie. The role requires the ability to communicate and facilitate group activities, work with children and adults, provide feedback to volunteers, and utilize remote/virtual platforms as needed. A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
Required Qualifications
- Education - Required Associate’s Degree in Social Work, counseling, psychology, education or human services related field
- In lieu of a degree, one (1) year of professional experience in group facilitation, bereavement services, or behavioral health support will be considered
- Ability to communicate and facilitate group activities
- Ability to work with children and adults
- Ability to lead and provide feedback to volunteers
- Ability to utilize remote/virtual platforms as needed
- Valid Driver's License
- Current auto insurance with proof of coverage required
- Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Regulations and Jefferson Health Abington's auto insurance policy
