Job Summary
Administer first aid and medications, perform broad health services, and assist students with personal hygiene needs such as toileting, diapering, and feeding. Monitor students on a one-to-one basis or in groups to ensure safety, while assisting directors and teachers in planning activities and organizing materials. Promote positive parent and child interactions, participate in staff training programs, and report student behavior according to established policies. Maintain regular attendance and learn child guidance principles to support a safe, quality environment for students. This 187-day, 3.5-hour position is located in Vine Grove.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
- some experience working with children in an organized setting
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Print and write legibly
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Learn procedures, functions and limitations of assigned duties
- Monitor, observe and report student's behavior according to approval policies and procedures
- Learn and apply safety procedures and regulations
- Safe practices in classroom and playground activities
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
- Basic record-keeping techniques
- Health and safety regulations
