Job Summary
SACC Group Leader delivers developmentally-appropriate programs for 6-12 year-olds in the School-Age Child Care program, including academic enrichment, tutoring, homework assistance, and athletic/recreational activities. Responsibilities include supervising participants, modeling positive behavior, maintaining a safe and clean program area, assisting with materials and resources, and collaborating with club staff on programming and events. Requires travel between sites, and a schedule that includes school-year afternoons (2:00 PM–6:00 PM) and summer camp hours. Must be 18+, possess a High School diploma or GED (some college preferred; degrees can replace some qualifications), minimum six months related experience, valid driver’s license (7D or obtain within six months), CPR/FA certification, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office; ability to work with diverse youth and families and to work independently or as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School degree or GED required
- Some college preferred
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree can replace some of the qualifications needed
- Minimum six months of related work experience
- If age 21+, valid driver’s license required and 7D license required or obtained within six months of hire
- Minimum of five hours of EEC approved training, including a minimum of three months of in-service trainings
- Must be or become CPR / FA certified
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- MS Office and web competency preferred
- Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work clubhouse hours especially as seasons and service needs change
