Job Summary
Operate asphalt screed machine to level asphalt and ensure the pavement is smooth and meets specifications, work with crew foreman, perform general laborer duties as needed, inspect equipment, emphasize safety, assist with patching/prep, leave machine as required, may run power tools, coordinate with workers, and be available for overtime/night/weekends; position is outdoor, Texas-wide travel may be required, OSHA regulations familiarity and PPE usage emphasized; positive, professional teamwork culture and dedication to safety throughout shifts.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years' experience within the asphalt industry
- 1-2 years' experience of operating paving equipment
- Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset
- Must be positive, friendly, and professional
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required
- Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required
- Some travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
- Proper PPE is required at all times
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
