Job Summary
Educational Assistant to support students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 with varying needs, including behavioural challenges and/or complex physical disabilities, developmental delays and/or severe medical needs. Responsibilities include ensuring student safety, implementing individualized programs and Positive Behaviour Support Plans, assisting with and adapting academic tasks, attending to medical and personal care needs, and collaborating with teachers within a responsive learning team. Candidates should have training/experience with severe behaviour challenges, understanding of neurodiversity (ASD, ODD, FASD, ADHD), and assets in supporting speech-language needs or AAC/Hanen where applicable. Schedule ranges from 7.25 to 14.75 hours per week across school sites (Agnes Davidson Elementary School and Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School) with opportunities at additional positions; wage range $23.53–$25.96/hour, increasing to $25.26–$27.87/hour effective Sept 1, 2026 based on education/experience. Location is Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Required Qualifications
- Proof of Grade 12 or Canadian Adult Educational Credential (CAEC) as issued by an accredited Canadian Province or a Canadian post-secondary certificate or diploma in a related field such as Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education and Child & Youth Care.
- If education obtained outside Canada, a copy of Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) confirming completion of high school or post secondary equivalencies.
- A police information check including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or RCMP detachment with no charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification (valid driver’s license, provincial ID, passport, or Nexus card).
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
