S&T Product Development Chemist

Job Summary
S&T Product Development Chemist within the Architectural Coatings R&D team. Responsible for formulating, preparing, and testing new and existing products, evaluating raw materials, maintaining product lines, and collaborating with manufacturing to resolve issues. Develop world-class coating technologies, learn architectural coatings concepts, and drive formulation and testing milestones. Collaborates with product management, manufacturing, and procurement to optimize formulations and ensure quality products reach customers. Emphasis on environmental, health, and safety compliance, hands-on lab work, analysis of testing results against standards and customer requirements, and strong communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent scientific degree
- A minimum of 0-3 years of experience working in a lab setting
- Previous experience in architectural, waterborne coatings, or other coatings technology and/or coatings manufacturing is preferred
- Familiarity with lab and production scale processing equipment, as well as process oriented and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in particular) is required. Strong Excel skills and the ability make professional level presentations is desired
- Knowledge of architectural coatings, and/or SAP is a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
