Job Summary
The STEAM Teacher is responsible for integrating STEAM concepts into a project-based learning framework for students in grades K-8. Key responsibilities include planning and teaching STEAM courses, conducting in-service education for teachers, developing hands-on learning experiences, managing the STEAM budget, and exploring opportunities for STEAM supplies and competitions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, possess a mindset of ongoing learning and innovation, and have a passion for STEAM education. Required qualifications include a valid Pennsylvania Elementary and Science/Math certification, with preferred experience in STEAM education and educational technology.
Required Qualifications
- VALID PENNSYLVANIA K-6 Elementary certificate
- 5-8 Science and/or Math certificate
- Required pre-employment background check and sexual misconduct/child abuse disclosure
- Demonstrates commitment to Universal Companies mission and success.
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience in enrichment and/or Gifted and Talented
- Preferred experience in STEAM Education
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate educational technology in the classroom
- Experience or familiarity with tools such as 3D printing, Scratch coding, BASIC coding, app development, robotics
