Job Summary
Lead S.T.E.A.M. and Arts staff by managing programs, delivering feedback, and coordinating logistics including advancement paperwork. Instruct Scouts ages 11-17 in merit badges while modeling the Scout Oath and Law. Maintain a clean, safe work area and assist with setup, maintenance, and camp-wide activities. Present to groups of 5-20 youth to transfer knowledge and empower skill application. Work 50+ hours daily, hiking up to 8 hours and lifting 50 pounds. Complete annual health records and wear Summit Staff Uniform.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of youth and adults
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike, up to 8 hours daily
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp
- Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform
- Work Hours: 50+
Desired Qualifications
- Previous S.T.E.M, arts/crafts/media, and/or Scouting experience/education strongly preferred
- Previous leadership experience
- Previous experience at the Summit
- High-level emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
