Part-time Physician Advisor at Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC) within RWJBarnabas Health. The role collaborates with local and corporate administration, medical staff, and case-management leadership to deliver a comprehensive clinical resource management program covering utilization management, progression of care management, social work services, and complex discharge planning. Responsibilities include establishing standardized physician-advisor practices around throughput and length of stay, observation hours, next site of care planning, leading multidisciplinary rounds, and contributing to the development of medical guidelines and policies aimed at quality and efficiency. Performance metrics include LOS targets (commercial and Medicare), observation hours, and alignment with defined benchmarks. Requirements include Board Certified/Eligible with a valid NJ license, 2+ years of clinical practice, prior utilization-management experience in acute care, leadership experience, CHCQM certification, knowledge of CMS regulations and guidelines (e.g., MCG, InterQual), and strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
