Job Summary
Physician Advisor (Part-Time) at RWJBarnabas Health in Rahway, NJ. Establish and maintain a standardized practice for Physician Advisor Services including Throughput/Length of Stay, Observation Hours, Next Site of Care planning, and leading multidisciplinary rounds. Participate in review and development of medical guidelines and policies to improve quality and efficiency of care. Role emphasizes utilization management, discharge planning, and clinical resource management with collaboration across administration, medical staff, and case management. Requires Board Certification/Eligible and a valid NJ license, 2+ years of clinical practice, prior utilization management in acute care, leadership experience, CHCQM certification, and strong knowledge of CMS regulations along with MCG and InterQual guidelines. Required Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible and Valid NJ License
- 2+ years of Clinical Practice Experience
- Previous Utilization Management Experience in Acute Care Setting
- Prior leadership experience required
- CHCQM certified
- Knowledge of CMS Regulations
- Knowledge of MCG and InterQual guidelines
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills with Ability to Multi-task and Set Priorities
