Job Summary
Russian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor delivers virtual language instruction and cultural/Regional Expertise content to support DLREC programs. Responsibilities include providing instruction across listening/reading/speaking, developing lesson plans, reviewing and grading assignments, maintaining a professional virtual learning environment, and collaborating to address curriculum gaps. Requirements include US citizenship, native or near-native Russian proficiency with ILR 3/3/3 (or equivalent), experience teaching Russian virtually, understanding of the cultural/political environment, and access to required hardware and high-speed internet. Desired qualifications include experience with CL-150 or Blackboard and a Bachelor's degree. Location is remote with no travel required; tentative employment type is Temporary. Location note: Remote with primary designation at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, USA.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent in listening, reading, and speaking
- Experience in providing foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Experience creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials
- Access to Windows, computer, webcam, headset with microphone, and reliable internet
