Job Summary
Opens and closes valves for product transfers, performs general preventative maintenance on pump and valve systems, and operates equipment within the asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. Inspects tanks periodically, troubleshoots mechanics of plant systems, weighs trucks pre- and post-loading, and loads emulsion trucks. Follows all safety policies and practices while working in a team environment with laboratory and sales personnel. Requires ability to work overtime, lift at least 50 pounds, and tolerate exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, and odors common to the construction environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Solid math and reading skills, and the ability to understand technical manuals
- Two (2) years production/maintenance experience OR oil and gas industry experience OR completion of mechanical/industrial trade school program
- Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with laboratory and sales personnel, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Willingness to be flexible in scheduling
- Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally enter confined spaces
- Ability to tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operation
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing
- Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
