Job Summary
The Product Development Lab Technician will support the development and improvement of asphalt products (binders, emulsions, and modified asphalts) by preparing test samples, performing laboratory performance tests, recording data, and assisting with formulation optimization to meet customer and regulatory specifications. Responsibilities include daily quality control testing, analyzing aggregate samples, lab production/testing of asphalt emulsions and cutbacks, evaluating asphalt mix design, ensuring compliance with specifications, data collection and reporting, maintaining an organized lab, and adhering to safety policies; requires teamwork with production and sales personnel and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in MS Office and strong attention to detail are essential; preferred qualifications include an Associate’s degree or higher and experience with asphalt/aggregate specifications and related certifications.
