Job Summary
On-call relief Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier with Canada Post. Responsibilities include sorting, collecting and delivering mail items in a safe and timely manner, acquiring knowledge of local roads and delivery receptacles, ensuring mail is secured, processing CPC products/services (e.g., Change of Address, Damaged Mail, IDB), wearing Canada Post identification during delivery, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 lb. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions, have mandatory vehicle requirements (automatic transmission, adequate cargo space, and insurance), and hold a valid provincial driver’s license (class 5 or G). Able to work independently in an on-call, temporary capacity in Ontario with English or French language essentials; area preference within 75 km of the local Post Office. Canada Post values include trust, respect, and delivering for others.
Required Qualifications
- Valid permanent provincial driver’s license - class 5 or G
- Provide and maintain automobile liability insurance
- Notify your insurance company as to the use of your vehicle while employed at Canada Post
- Have a satisfactory safe driving record (driver's abstract required)
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lb/22.7 kg
- Experience in making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions

- Area of Competition: Applicants residing within 75 km from the Post Office in which this job is located are preferred
