Job Summary
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, take guest orders, and utilize suggestive selling techniques while adhering to service standards. Anticipate guest needs, acknowledge all guests, and make recommendations based on preferences. Complete opening and closing duties, including checking bar stock, setting up stations, and recording orders into the point-of-sale system. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas, manage supplies, and collect tips at shift end. Adhere to alcohol service regulations, TIPS certification, and safety protocols while working cohesively with the team in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in hotels, banquets, or events
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Knowledgeable of beverages, recipes and correct glassware and garnishes
- Knowledgeable and ensure compliance of all state liquor regulations
- Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently
- Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Must possess excellent communication, follow up, and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
- Must be TIPS and Food Safety certified as required
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
- Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Must be able to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
- Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions
