Job Summary
Own and actively manage a portfolio of 25–35 prospective rugby-connected donors, securing warm introductions through trusted networks and authentic relationship-building via in-person visits, virtual experiences, and rugby events. Progress relationships through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, preparing for and leading major-gift conversations while contributing to the Pass It Back Collective's membership and revenue targets. Represent ChildFund Rugby confidently at supporter engagements, collaborating closely with Co-Directors and fundraising advisers to coordinate introductions and ensure values-aligned communication. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor information and comply with child safeguarding and counter-terrorism requirements. This part-time consultancy requires approximately 10–12 hours per week, with initial focus on North America and Europe, and includes occasional travel for selected meetings and events.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a current or former professional or elite rugby athlete
- Credibility and relevant relationships within the rugby community
- The ability to build authentic relationships with people from different professional, cultural and personal backgrounds
- Strong communication, listening and storytelling skills
- Confidence initiating conversations and maintaining relationships through consistent personal follow-up
- Strong personal organisation and sound judgement
- The ability to work independently and asynchronously
- The ability to use shared digital platforms effectively
- The ability to maintain timely records and follow-up
- Openness to learning about relationship-based fundraising

- Ability to complete relevant background and/or criminal history checks
- Ability to be reviewed against the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and National Security Australia lists
Desired Qualifications
- Established networks, additional languages or cross-cultural experience relevant to the geographic market
- Experience representing rugby through leadership, media, ambassador, community, governance or commercial roles
- Experience in relationship development, business development, partnerships or senior stakeholder engagement
