Job Summary
Ship high-quality production code adhering to Rails best practices while helping scale a fast-growing, product-focused SaaS company. Assist in processing millions of Sidekiq jobs daily and managing database operations with Postgres, Sidekiq, and Redis. Utilize AI tools like Claude Code to optimize workflow and focus on shipping meaningful updates using the 80/20 principle. Work autonomously in a high-octane environment with async meetings, overlapping EST or PDT timezones.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with Ruby / Ruby on Rails
- In-depth knowledge of database systems, particularly relational databases (e.g., Postgres, Sidekiq and Redis)
- The ability to adjust to our high-octane workflow
- The ability to work in EST or PDT timezone, or at least overlap by 5 hours
- Ability to write efficient and optimized code, following best practices and design patterns
Desired Qualifications
- Having experience in the Shopify ecosystem, particularly the shopify_app and shopify_api gems
- Do you enjoy using AI tools like Claude Code in your everyday coding
