Job Summary
Ruby on Rails Engineer (Software Engineer II) at ioet, a LATAM-based software company delivering Software Engineering as a service to clients worldwide. The role focuses on evolving backend platforms, maintaining and improving backend systems, and participating in architectural discussions. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Operations, contribute through code reviews and pair programming, and progressively take ownership of larger technical initiatives. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, strong object-oriented and MVC framework skills, relational database proficiency, and excellent English communication; Rails experience is a plus. Remote, full-time, USD compensation, with benefits and a structured career plan. Based in Latin America; multiple locations in Ecuador referenced in postings.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages
- Experience working with Model-View-Controller (MVC) frameworks
- Solid understanding of relational databases
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience participating in code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative development practices
- Ability to decompose technical and business requirements into actionable development tasks
- Strong communication skills and interest in growing technical leadership capabilities
- English communication skills – Minimum B2 level proficiency
