Ruby on Rails Developer

Job Summary
Build, optimize, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications and APIs in a fully remote environment. You will design and implement backend services, integrate databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), develop RESTful APIs, and collaborate with frontend developers using React, Vue, or Stimulus. Own feature development from architecture through deployment, optimize performance, implement background jobs with Sidekiq/Resque, and uphold high code quality with automated tests (RSpec, Minitest, Capybara) and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll work with product and design teams to ship reliable, scalable backend systems, ensure security best practices, monitor and troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to architectural decisions and technical ownership in a remote, distributed setting.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience
- Strong proficiency with Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases
- Experience with background job systems such as Sidekiq or Resque
- Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and backend application architecture
- Experience writing automated tests and maintaining code quality standards
