Job Summary

Lead the Quality Operations function across Reading Truck Equipment and Masterack by establishing goals, metrics, and strategies aligned with business objectives. Direct quality managers, supervisors, and technicians while maintaining a hands-on presence in manufacturing, assembly, installation, and upfit areas to identify issues and drive resolution. Develop and improve quality systems, policies, and the quality APP to enhance visibility, data capture, and corrective action tracking. Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities for commercial vehicle equipment, van interiors, shelving, and upfit products while monitoring defects, rework, scrap, and warranty trends. Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support new product introductions, process changes, and supplier quality improvements. Lead root cause analysis for internal defects, customer complaints, and field issues using Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices. Serve as the primary contact for customer escalations and regulatory matters, providing input on cost of poor quality and improvement investments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, or commercial vehicle upfit environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality leadership experience
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, or other American Society for Quality certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other PPE as required
  • Travel required, approximately 25% to 40%

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial vehicle equipment, automotive, transportation, fabrication, metal manufacturing, van interiors, storage systems, or related industrial manufacturing
  • Experience with supplier quality, process capability, Lean, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving
  • Experience implementing quality systems, digital quality tools, quality applications, or operational reporting platforms
