Job Summary
Aircraft Mechanic III applies comprehensive technical knowledge to inspect, troubleshoot, repair and modify aircraft structures and systems of moderate difficulty, focusing on AH-64 airframes, power plants, hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, and related components. Reads and interprets manufacturers’ manuals, service bulletins, and engineering data to determine repair feasibility and methods; performs inspections and applies advanced technical expertise to restore equipment condition and operation. Requires an FAA A&P license or equivalent military aircraft repair training for AH-64A/D, a minimum of 7 years’ aircraft maintenance experience (or 4 years of verifiable RDT&E rotary-wing experience), Army Aviation maintenance experience, and eligibility to work in the United States with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL; emphasizes depot-level maintenance and compliance with relevant policies and procedures to support mission-critical aircraft maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- FAA A&P license or completion of military aircraft repairer school for AH-64A/D
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or 4 years of verifiable RDT&E experience in rotary wing aircraft
- Army Aviation maintenance experience
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
- DEPOT level maintenance experience
- Broad knowledge of AH-64 aircraft systems including hydraulics, structures, engines, and electrical systems
