Job Summary
Performs routine radiographic procedures under physician supervision; prepares patients for visits; operates radiology equipment and RIS/LIS per protocols; affixes and verifies physician orders; ensures diagnostic-quality images and adheres to ALARA; conducts quality control and data entry; assists with department operations such as inventory, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance; communicates effectively with patients and staff; serves as a mentor to junior staff and students; maintains compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies; emphasizes patient privacy and safety throughout the imaging workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: formal medical assistant training program
- 2 years experience as a medical assistant
- Licensed by the Board of Examiners as a Private Radiologic Technologist in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
