Job Summary
Assess patient respiratory equipment needs and select, instruct, and troubleshoot appropriate services to meet those requirements. Communicate with physicians regarding condition changes, adjust treatment plans, and complete associated paperwork and assessments. Act as a liaison between the company, patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare agencies while resolving immediate equipment emergencies. Conduct preventive maintenance checks, monitor supply levels, and place replenishment orders. Participate in educational meetings for healthcare workers and community members, and educate internal staff on equipment features and safety. Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy. Maintain current licensure across all states where patient care is provided.
Required Qualifications
- RCP Licensed in home state
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program
- Thorough knowledge and skill related to respiratory care field
- Ability to effectively supervise clinical personnel
- Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people to result in constructive working relationships
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Basic understanding of insurance requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance)
Desired Qualifications
- Two-year hospital based respiratory care experience preferred
- One year's home care experience preferred
