Job Summary
The RT Assistant supports certified NDT technicians in providing nondestructive testing services. Key responsibilities include assisting with inspections, organizing materials and equipment, following safety and site protocols, maintaining tools, completing documentation, and performing general labor tasks related to rigging and setup. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and ability to withstand various environmental conditions. Ideal candidates will possess basic knowledge of NDT methods and safety certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening background check
- Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials
- Willingness to travel and work in various environments typically found in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Municipality, Aerospace, and other type settings
- Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in NDT, construction, or industrial environments
- Familiarity with basic NDT methods and terminology
- Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools/equipment
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard, refinery or plant environment including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing to communicate effectively
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation to conduct investigations
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine office duties
- Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills
