Job Summary
Cut, weld, and sand pipes to prepare for assembly. Bolt and assemble components to the plumbing system while reading specs and blueprints to ensure customer standards. Install valves and verify correct attachment. Perform water and suction tests to confirm plumbing system efficiency. Work in wet, humid, and outdoor conditions with moderate to loud noise, requiring safety boots, glasses, gloves, and a respirator. Occasional evening and weekend work supports department needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books with increased proficiency
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to follow a standard set of instructions that describe the proper procedures for handling problems that may occur
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely
- Basic understanding on how to use basic hand tools, shear, and brake press
- Ability to recognize the importance of and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment
- Driving license
- Own Vehicle
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally
