Job Summary
Route 12V electrical wires to fire apparatus equipment following wire diagrams and technical drawings. Install 12V accessories such as sensors and lights, and fabricate boxes, mounts, and wire harnesses to complete installations according to blueprints. Utilize handheld power tools, basic hand tools, and a multimeter to assemble components while adhering to all safety policies and working from blueprint specifications. Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support department needs, with local travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Knowledge of DC electrical equipment
- 6 months or related experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields
- Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Driving license
- Own Vehicle
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally
