Job Summary
Route 12V electrical wires for fire apparatus equipment as directed by wire diagrams and technical drawings. Install 12V accessories such as sensors and lights, and fabricate boxes, mounts, and wire harnesses to complete electrical installations according to blueprints. Utilize handheld power tools, basic hand tools, and a multimeter to assemble components and communicate with fabricators for complete installations. Work involves reading blueprints, adhering to safety policies, and performing duties as required by management. Occasional evening and weekend hours are needed to support department needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Knowledge of DC electrical equipment
- 6 months or related experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields
- Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Driving license
- Own Vehicle
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally
