Job Summary
Provides technical expertise in testing aircraft systems, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to ensure minimum schedule impact. Demonstrates technical expertise by implementing process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising safety or quality. Performs installation and functionally tests electrical/avionics components and systems on aircraft per Engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals; troubleshoots and repairs to ensure defect-free installations. Reads and interprets blueprints/schematics; uses hand tools and test sets; adheres to FOD, tool control, and 5-S programs; may participate in flight tests and adapt to schedule changes. Requires high school diploma or GED and 4 years avionics/electrical experience (or 2 years accredited schooling plus 2 years experience); A&P license preferred; NCATT/FCC preferred. Must be able to climb stairs, work in confined areas, and communicate effectively in English; willingness to work multiple shifts and travel up to 25%.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four (4) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field OR two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years related experience
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred
- FCC preferred
- NCATT preferred
