Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation while drawing, analyzing, and reporting arterial blood gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy, assist with changing artificial airways, and review and document all clinical information per physician orders and established policies. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards to ensure compliance. Work a flexible schedule including 24/7 shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
