Job Summary
Provide care to patients with respiratory insufficiency and related complications, functioning as part of the direct patient team. Assess, identify, and treat patient health conditions while demonstrating competency in mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, and arterial blood gas analysis. Perform emergency interventions assuming a leadership role, and communicate effectively with nursing personnel and physicians. Maintain equipment, complete quality control procedures, and participate in performance improvement activities. Document assessments, education, and goals accurately. Requires a valid RRT credential with ABG endorsement and Tennessee licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RRT Credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Licensed as a registered Respiratory Therapist by the State of Tennessee Health Related Boards with ABG endorsement
- Current work-permit acceptable per state regulations
- Must have documented experience necessary to obtain state license
- Current CPR
Desired Qualifications
- New Registry Eligible graduates may be hired in as an RRT and will have 90 days in which to pass the NBRC RRT exam and become credentialed
